The Lazy Sunday Guide to Being Productive From Bed

Who doesn't love a lazy Sunday? We have some tips on how you can enjoy your lazy day without wasting the day.

Jan 16, 2020

When you think about Sunday, you’re probably only thinking about your bed. Likely, the last thing on your mind is productivity. But don’t let the Sunday scaries stop you from prepping for the week. Up, up! Draw the curtains. Grab your favorite morning beverage. Slap on a face mask. Then, crawl back to bed. It’s time to get stuff done. Here’s how:

Make a List

To-do lists are a productivity tool as old as time. Nothing motivates more than crossing things off of a list as we complete them. Work on a list the day before so you can get your priorities in order. If your Sunday to-do is working toward a larger goal, listing in your everyday journal will help you keep your objective clear. And, if your Sunday to-do list says to make more lists, well, that works too. Planning your week from the comfort of your own bed is simple and effective.

Catch Up on Reading

Pick up that book you’ve been meaning to finish, or those articles that you’ve bookmarked. It’s easy to get into the habit of binging a new series whenever you have free time but studies show that reading can have positive impacts on your memory and productivity. Plus, what better place to catch up on reading than tucked into your favorite sheets?

Set your Alarm

Sunday might be synonymous with snooze but setting your alarm to get your day started will set you on the right path. Using your alarm throughout the day like a timer can also help you maintain good time between tasks. For ultimate productivity, opt in for a good ol’ alarm clock! Keeping your phone away will lessen distraction.

Do Some Organizing

Sunday’s are perfect for tackling the tasks you have no energy for during the week. Here are some ideas to get you started: clean up your email inbox, delete the unnecessary files hoarding your laptop memory, sort your photos into albums, or schedule future plans with friends and family. Productivity can mean whatever you want it to, but we all know organizing is a good start.

Decide on Your Productivity Mood

What environment do you work best in? Maybe you need a little background noise or some aromatherapy. Scents like peppermint, lemon, and eucalyptus are sure to keep you awake and alert. So, plug in that essential oil diffuser. Or, for a more cozy vibe, light a fresh scented candle

Set Up Your Office Bed

A small laptop stand will help you work miracles from bed. They’re stable enough to help you type in good posture, do some journaling, and hey, even plate a snack.

Turn in Early

Getting yourself ready for the week could mean doing nothing at all. Yes, resting is super productive. Clear your mind and make the most of your bedtime routine. Try meditating, stretching, and wearing your best sleepwear to bed.

So when you do finally get out of bed, you’ll feel more ready than ever.
